We seem to be hopelessly confused on the medical issue, some say free healthcare some say private insurance. Well in the spirit of freedom of choice and individual rights let’s try the following.
When we do our taxes you have a medical choice, private insurance (PI) or free, (F) you pick one. This info is compiled in a medical database, at that point those who want free medical will pay a medical tax, those who choose PI pay no medical tax. Every year you have the option of changing your medical coverage. The cost to create and maintain the huge government structure, which will control the free medical services, will be paid for through the taxes of the free medical people. Congress of course will continue to reduce medical costs for those private insurance people.
Now everyone is happy because they were allowed a choice Free people get their “Free” medical and Private Insurance people don’t have to pay for others Free government stuff. We maintain the free market, which made this country great as well as socialized medicine, which makes some people happy. If at some point free medical comes crashing down due to excessive costs and inadequate medical care people just switch to PI and we all can say we tried it. I can only hope I am wrong and it won’t fail, that would be ideal.
While we are on the subject of free choice we might as well resolve the abortion issue. It’s actually quite simple, the federal government cuts all financial ties with abortion facilities; it has no business being involved in the first place. This is a state issue; let people in the individual states vote for those politicians who support their position. Then have those politicians vote on whether their state is going to be an abortion state or non-abortion state.
Some may say it’s not fair to force women to travel to an abortion state if the live in a non-abortion state. Well the decisions you make have consequences. If you have to pay expenses to have an abortion that is the result of your decision. You have your freedom of choice so accept the responsibility that comes with it. The reality is if you feel you have the right to obtain an abortion you are free to exercise it.
